Dr. Stephen Slade to present at the 2014 ASCRS Congress in Boston

Slade & Baker Vision’s very own Dr. Stephen Slade has been chosen to lecture about various new, cutting edge topics in the Eye World at the 2014 American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) Congress that takes place in Boston this weekend – April 25-29!

Dr. Slade is asked to speak all over the world throughout the year but the ASCRS is attended by doctors from all over the US and international surgeons as well.

He has been asked to talk about various topics, but 2 very hot topics on the table with all ophthalmic surgeons that are involved in cataract or refractive surgery these days are Corneal Collagen Crosslinking (CXL) for the treatment of Keratoconus and Post Lasik Ectasia, as well as Laser Cataract Surgery.

These are two topics that surgeons from all over the world want to hear about and want to learn from surgeons like Dr. Slade who have the most experience.  After all, he was the first surgeon in the US to perform the Laser Cataract Surgery procedure and he has been involved in the CXL Corneal Crosslinking trials from their inception as well!  He has been the first to begin certain trials in our very own clinic in Houston, Texas!

Dr. Slade’s lecture about Crosslinking will take place at the Ophthalmology Innovation Summit on April 24th.  Here is the link: www.ophthalmologysummit.com/ascrs/agenda/

Dr. Slade wil be discussing Laser Cataract Surgery and refractive cataract approaches on a very important panel on Tuesday, April 29th.  This panel will discuss new advances in cataract surgery including refractive IOLS, case management and laser surgery.  The panel plans to facilitate discussion on important refractive cataract issues facing today’s ophthalmologist and will highlight femtosecond cataract surgery.  The panel will use state of the art audience response keypads to further the discussion among faculty and attendees.

We congratulate Dr. Slade on always being on the cutting edge of the field and wish him luck on all of his lectures in Boston this upcoming week!

And remember, if you are choosing a surgeon for LASIK, Laser Cataract Surgery, or Corneal Crosslinking, ask yourself ONE question.

Would you choose the guy listening to the lecture, or the one giving it?
