ICL is a potential alternative to LASIK in some patients. Dr Slade can evaluate each patient to determine if this, or another type of refractive surgery, is suitable for correcting the patient’s vision. The intraocular contact lens is just that, a tiny soft "contact lens" that is permanently inserted into the eye. It is invisible once placed, and does not have to be replaced over time. This procedure is currently being evaluated by the FDA.
