|  PRK eye surgery has been performed by Dr Slade for over 18 years. As with other types of laser eye surgery, Dr Slade is a leader in the Houston and Southeast Texas areas. PRK is simply laser treatment but without the flap. For some patients PRK is the best choice. Modern PRK has very good results but it typically takes a little longer for recovery than LASIK. We have recently published a two center, prospective trial of PRK compared to LASIK. LASIK did have better results in the first few months but by the 6th month, the results were the same.
